11Eleven Media & Art Studio Modesto

In my series, the warm glow of candlelight, starlight, and moonlight symbolizes hope, unity, serenity, the presence of God, and freedom. First shown at a gallery in a Modesto, California, the imagery reflects candlelight vigils for civil rights, runaway slaves guided by the North Star, and scriptural moments of triumph over darkness. Figures hold remembrance candles, a tradition where communities mourn and heal together. My show celebrates unity and hope in tragedy, echoing John 1:5: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.”

San Jose State

I exhibited this collection in Gallery 5 at San Jose State's Art Building. During this second exhibition of this series, I spoke with Rick Bacigalupi from Northern California Public Media in a televised interview about the show & upcoming projects.

April 2023

I organized a two-week solo art exhibition and open house featuring musical performances by myself and Bay Area artists Nayeli Ramon, Tenise Kindred, and Maurice Dowdell. I curated songs for each performer to reflect themes from my Follow the Light collection, celebrating hope through light. I designed marketing materials, secured a volunteer DJ and sound engineer, and hosted the event.
